In August 2021, Rodrigo sent us a photo of a small Geisha tree he had just planted on his high-altitude plot, expanding beyond his original Catuai and Caturra varieties. His finca defies the typical image of a coffee farm. At 2,200 masl, the land is rugged—rocky soil with almost no organic matter and sparse vegetation. Harsh conditions, far from the usual coffee-growing environment. This is a passion project, a bold experiment to grow coffee where it shouldn’t thrive.
To make it work, Rodrigo dug deep holes into the bare ground, enriched them with organic matter, and installed an irrigation system to nurture each plant individually. The early years were a struggle—constant care was needed to keep the trees alive, reviving them repeatedly until their roots took hold and adapted to this unforgiving terroir.
The result is a tiny, precious lot. Thanks to our long-standing relationship with Rodrigo, we secured this 10 kg batch to share with you. It’s a stunning example of Bolivian high-altitude coffee, and we’re proud to introduce it internationally for the first time. Rodrigo’s dedication shines through in every cup.
When coffee grows in such extraordinary places, the cup is full of surprises. Enjoy it while it lasts—this lot is extremely limited.

Sourcing directly at origin from small farmers, we are fully aware of the hard work that goes into the quality product we buy and the challenges their families face to earn their fragile livelihood. In this regard, coffee producing communities in Bolivia face additional challenges, due to the lack of infrastructure, financial support and difficult access to international freight routes. To fairly balance the relationship between roaster and producer we are price takers and as part of our long term commitment to a financially and environmentally sustainable coffee production in Bolivia, we factor these realities into the pricing.
For this 10Kg batch of specialty grade coffee, Rodrigo received 44,05 USD/Kg.
