Aeropress - Brewing Guide

Inverted and with bypass. This is how we like to brew our coffees with the Aeropress:

1) Grind 18 grams of coffee medium fine (1 1/3 on the Fellow ODE V1.0, 6 on a K-Max from 1Zpresso);

2) Put the paper filter into the filter holder and rinse it with hot water;

3) Add the ground coffee into the brewing chamber of the inverted Aeropress;

4) Pour 120 grams of water at 93°C and agitate vigorously the grounds and the water with the paddle, close the Aeropress with its filter;

5) After 2 minutes, turn the Aeropress around and quickly press the plunger through the grounds into a Carafe or Mug in around 10 seconds;

6) Pour another 80 grams of water at 90°C into your coffee concentrate to dilute it.

The result should be a nicely balanced, complex, flavored cup of coffee with a very nice creamy body that you can enjoy as it is cooling down.

PRO Tip: scoop out the crust forming on top of your brew with a spoon after agitating in point 4. As the coffee grounds drop to the bottom, the remaining foam contains mostly fibers and silverskin, that may taint the final cup. Getting rid of them, will give you a cleaner cup with less astringency.
